Financial and basic needs support for families affected by the July 27 tornado.
People of Progression (PoP) is offering application submission support to stabilize, address immediate needs, and move forward with confidence. Assistance is intended to help remove immediate barriers and support households as they work toward longer-term recovery.

Who Can Apply for Tornado Recovery Assistance?
Homeowners and renters whose primary residence was impacted by the July 27 tornado may apply.
You may still be eligible if you:

Own or rent your home

Remain in your home or have been displaced

Have insurance or are waiting on an insurance claim

Have received some assistance but still have unmet tornado-related needs

Do not possess or cannot locate documentation

Need language or application assistance

Assistance Amount Determination
The amount of assistance is determined based on each household's circumstances, tornado impact, identified needs, other available resources, and program requirements.
How to Apply for Tornado Recovery Assistance
1. Apply
Complete an application with PoP or a participating community partner .
2. Meet With Us
An advocate from your community partner organization where you launched your application will help identify your household's tornado impacts and immediate stabilization needs.
3. Review
A team will review your circumstances, available resources, other disaster assistance received or expected, and remaining unmet needs.
4. Receive Assistance
If approved, P.O.P., MCI or NEW HMong, will work to process assistance within 24 hours whenever possible. Assistance may be provided directly to the household or paid to a vendor/provider, depending on the approved need and circumstances.
5. Keep Moving Forward
All partner organizations can connect you with additional resources and longer-term recovery support.

If documents were lost, destroyed, or are otherwise unavailable because of the tornado, talk with our team about other reasonable ways to document your circumstances.

Submitting an application does not guarantee financial assistance. Assistance is based on eligibility, tornado-related needs, program requirements, available funding, and other assistance received or expected.
Financial assistance is intended to help address immediate barriers to stabilization and recovery and may not cover all tornado-related losses or expenses.
